About us

Croatoan is a group of music enthusiasts from Sosnowiec, Poland. We were founded on December 3, 2010. As for now, we have four band members. We do not play a specific genre - we play what we like.

Up to now, we have played several concerts in Sosnowiec's pubs and clubs. We have received positive feedback, but we are still aiming for bigger goals. Right now, our focus is on assembling a studio so that we can record our first debut album.

The name itself comes from a Roanoke colony which called so an island near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, USA during 1585-1587. The colony disappeared unaccountably, leaving behind the word "CROATOAN" carved into a post of the fort. We heard the story and decided to use the word for our band name.
